Winery

Driving on the Alba-Barolo county road, towards Alba, the winery is located at about 1.5 km from Barolo and almost on a par with La Morra. After a major renovation it is now characterized by contemporary and functional architecture.

MGA

The secret of the high quality of Damilano wines is hidden in the grapes and in the MGA that the company care with the same passion, dedication and precision of the founders, combined with contemporary wisdom. These are prestigious MGA, located in areas that are most suitable for the production of Nebbiolo grapes. Think of wines like Cannubi, Liste, Brunate, Cerequio and Raviole.

MGA

Cannubi

Cannubi vineyard is the flagship of the company. If Piedmont had a Grand Cru classification system similar to the Burgundy one, Cannubi vineyard (also called Cannubio or Canubbio) would be considered one of very few Barolo Grand CRU, quality wise too.

Liste

These are exclusive rows vinified only by two producers. The vines of this CRU are planted in a very small vineyard called Liste of which Damilano family manages about 2 hectares. The limestone and silty soils (with only 15% of sand) give the wine great complexity of aromas and structure, which combined with good acidity and a strong tannic component, contributes to its longevity.

Brunate

The first and most used name to identify these vineyard plots of La Morra is “Brunate”. Notes of this word can also be found in ancient documents writing about the territory. This vineyard is one of the most fascinating for its almost perfect exposure which provides charm and great strength to the wine, because of the powerful thermal excursions that this area experiences.

Cerequio

Cerequio is a beautiful amphitheater vineyard, facing south almost entirely. It benefits from a particularly happy climate, protected from the cold winds coming from the north, thanks to the high hills of La Morra. In its center there is a housing cluster, set in the heart of beautiful plots which are arranged as terraces overlooking the Langhe hills; today the houses are uninhabited, but still retain a unique charm.

Raviole

Raviole is the latest addition to the Damilano CRU collection, located next to Grinzane Cavour Castle. Starting from vintage 2015 Damilano is the first producer of this CRU: Barolo Raviole. Raviole takes its surprising and unique freshness from the soil of this vineyard located at 300 meters above sea level, facing south-west.

Serralunga

The excellence of Serralunga comes from its unique soil: the vines grow on a Lequio formation with silty soils, alternating layers of clay marl and sand. The south-facing hills, at about 260 meters above sea level, ensure perfect grape ripening.

Barolo

Cannubi, Brunate, Cerequio, Liste and Raviole MGA are distinguished by a very different organoleptic spectrum, each resulting from the respective soil’s characteristics, ranging from the innate elegance of Cannubi, Brunate and Raviole to the more decisive and structured character of Cerequio and Liste. The five Barolo MGA are accompanied by Barolo Lecinquevigne: a Barolo classico.
